Plan few, live plenty.

As John Lennon said once: “Life is what happens when we make plans for the future“. I feel that everytime I turn to be very concentrated in doing plans for the future, somehow I’m losing something. This obsession of planning and prevent all “if’s” only takes from you simply things in life and makes you more and more stressed. Beyond that, sometimes it’s an actual waste of time, because you don’t control your own destiny; there are opportunities that simply appear in your life when you don’t expect them. I give you an example. In the end of my graduation in ISEP, I decided to go to FEUP do get the master and, in free time, I would study cinema. Did that really happen? No. A professor of mine asked me someday if I was looking for a job and well… I said: “No, I’m not, but…” There. I got my first job in civil engineering. So, as you see, even with all planned, my life turned upside down and it didn’t depend on me. Ok, I could say “no, thanks” to that proposal but, in those days getting a job is like… a bless. Because we all have outgoings and we need money to survive. Sometimes I fell regret for my decision, because I took Cinema from my life for a few more time. And yes, I said “few” because I believe that one day I will achieve my dream. For now, I just want to live my life day by day, step by step, economizing some money and considering that life will show me some tips to take some important decisions in particular situations. Take this as an advice: carry with you some good ambitions but not obsessions, and live the moment; “go with the flow” and let things happen naturally with only a few plans in your pocket.

Uma Resposta a Plan few, live plenty.

“What surprises you most about humankind?”

One day they asked this question to the Dalai Lama and he replied:

“…Men, because they lose their health to make money, then they lose money to regain health … And by thinking anxiously about the future, forget the present, so that, ultimately not live in neither the present nor the future. They live as if they will never die … and die as if they had never lived. ” ;)
